The Mounts and Politics of Darkfall

After receiving one of the few lucky ones to receive a copy of the game, I decided to write about two aspects of the game that I introduced in the early days, too. While rising and fonts in the game have little to do with each other, these functions are those that I could finally live in my early days. Many people have responded to questions from my beta closer to the mountains, and I hope experience will tell you a little more insight. After writing the report on the features of guild, I was finally able to test as I was soon up to the eyes of political machinations.

Darkfall Online Overview Part One

Welcome to Darkfall? If any of you have Darkfall in its nearly 8 years of development, as these words is sprayed on various forums or websites practically a requirement for display. Formed for better or worse, Darkfall will be the most loved, hated, and talked about MMORPGs in recent history.

Unfortunately, for those of you who do not have the chance to enter the beta, you left scrounging for official information that you might find on the game. Good luck trying to find something! Over the last 2 years, the only information available, the apparently random statements were given to media chief Darkfall developer Tasos Flambouras dark.

Darkfall: Survival Tips

To get a general idea of how I approach the idea of survival in Agon, I will compare it to our own earthly Mother Nature. Nothing in nature is cruel, but nothing in nature is kind either. It is the same in Agon. Life isn’t easy, and you will soon realize just how vulnerable you truly are. It comes down to having the skills to survive in an unsympathetic environment versus getting angry when bad things happen.

You wouldn’t take it personally if a bear mauled you, right? You just have to be smarter than the bear, that’s all. Even the most basic survival skills could mean the difference between life and “phat lootz” or death and a free trip back to your bind stone. As any survivalist will tell you, the best time to practice your skills is before you need them. Here I will outline some basic and advanced survival techniques that will most definitely keep your nose out of dirt, you gear shiny, and your bank full.

Darkfall: Aventurine Bans 213 for Cheating

We have allowed fraudsters to 213 today. What are the people who are 3rd party programs to cheat. They were not allowed to provide for macros, they were banned because of fraud. They were detected automatically and verified manually in a variety of ways. This number represents 90% of cheaters in Darkfall now. The rest has also been detected, and wait until they are checked before we ban them.

These people were warned repeatedly. They chose to believe that we can not recognize what happens in our sport. They spoke of the manufacturers of these hacks on the word of the creator and administrator of the game. There are no exceptions. We do not care if journalists, clan leaders, or our friends among them. They have cheated to gain an unfair advantage over the rest of us. They deserve to be banned.

Darkfall: Skills in DFO

In this article, we are going to take a deeper look into one of the core game mechanics of Darkfall Online, the skill system. Having a skill system in and of itself is a vast departure from the more mainstream mmorpgs such as World of Warcraft or Everquest.

In Darkfall you are simply a sum of your various skills. You have no level, no class, and when you die…you will have no gear. Pretty much the only thing you can take with you are your skills. There are many skills in Darkfall ranging from melee skills, magic skills, crafting skills, and general skills (like running and swimming). To increase a skill, simply use it. For instance if I put an axe in my hand, and begin whacking away on a monsters (or player!) my axe skill will begin to increase. If I switch to a sword, my sword skill will begin to increase. Now magic has an extra skill set, the spells themselves. All magic spells are grouped into different magic “schools”. You begin with Lesser Magic, and after you reach a skill level of 50, you can buy the Greater Magic skill.

Buy Eurogamer rechecked Darkfall

The treatment of these scandals Eurogamer has been extremely frustrating for us. For those of you who believe that we are not professional Eurogamer calls about this, we need to know that there is nothing professional whole affair. Obviously when we tore our personal game without actually playing.

It is certainly for us personally to see our livelihood, which reduced to shreds by a fraud of a prestigious big game to make it happen. We tried with this individual, but Eurogamer has not heard of, deal with it, so we had no alternative but to go public.

Darkfall’s “surprise”, What side of the fence I’m on, and outdoor cats

1) Darkfall: No one should be surprised that the Darkfall developer(s?) have hit you up for more money. I don’t care if they are charging you for the North American server, transfers or just because they are poor. I don’t care if they are charging you because they are just greedy. Here’s the rub: in the world of independent games (and a good deal of the time in the Big Leagues) stuff like this happens.

It’s 50 bucks. 50. Ask your parents for a loan.

The dev’s have already given you a game that, despite all gripes about it, has done more for “meaningful PVP” then most games. All games. Well, not EVE, unless you add on a cash shop. They need your cash. Pay it or leave it. But please, for the love of all things hardcore, don’t do what thousands of others have done for many independent games: whine and bitch WHILE you play the game. Just leave it. Come back to it after a while, see how the changes are going. Don’t give it, and the forums, that air of a rotting, festering player-base that seems to just HATE it’s own game. Isn’t that weird? People treat games like they would a significant other that, deep down, they wish would just go away?
