Ninety-two Spaniards killed in the Afghanistan mission deployed in 2002.
Madrid, 25 ago .- The death today of two civil guards in a shootout in the Afghan province of Badghis, one born in Albacete, rises to 92 dead Spaniards belonging to the mission deployed in Afghanistan since 2002.
Eight of the dead were killed in armed attacks, 79 air accidents (62 in the Yak-42 and 17 in the Cougar helicopter), two in, yoville coins, traffic accidents and a myocardial infarction.
The two Civil Guards killed in a shootout today are the first fatalities of the Spanish mission in Afghanistan that belong to the State Security Forces and the Army.
The first fatal attack on Spanish troops occurred on July 8, 2006 in Farah province when the explosion of a device remotely activated soldier killed, tera gold, the Peruvian-born Jorge Arnaldo Hernandez.
On February 21, 2007 a mine blew up a Spanish convoy and killed the soldier Idoia Rodriguez Bujan near Shindand in Herat province.

A total of 162 members of the Army and Spanish security forces, as well as two foreign interpreters who accompanied them, have died since 1987 while carrying out missions abroad.
Eight of the civil guards were killed, including two who were killed today in Afghanistan, and two policemen. The rest were military.
The mission in Afghanistan is the one that has cost more lives in Spain, followed by a mission to Bosnia-Herzegovina, with 23 dead.
